ALON Marketing Group is a tourism marketing consultancy company that has successfully helped tourism suppliers and destinations with B2B inbound tourism strategies for more than 20 years. ALON has developed a broad network and knowledge about the intricacies in working with travel trade buyers, the distribution channel and sales cycle.

In 2015, ALON Marketing Group created the first-of-its-kind, travel trade training program for NYC & Company, the official DMO of New York City named, “Tourism Ready©”. “Tourism Ready©” reconvenes each year, helping hundreds of tourism businesses city-wide, to achieve the goals of NYC to have a travel trade product ready to sell in addition to a place to promote. The program succeeds at equipping NYC suppliers to effectively work with the travel trade by developing products and services for groups, FIT and DMC markets and establishing partnerships to build itineraries and packages.

Given the success of NYC & Company’s “Tourism Ready©” program, in 2017 ALON Marketing Group partnered with International Inbound Travel Association (IITA) and launched “Steps to Success©,” a tourism training program designed to assist destinations and their stakeholders nationwide on how to effectively work with inbound operators and grow their international business.

USA destination marketing organizations (DMOs) are promoting their destinations to the travel trade as a considerable investment to develop tourism business to their regions but are challenged in achieving an actual ROI. Essentially, their tourism suppliers are not prepared to work with the travel trade and do not have defined bookable products for the travel trade to sell. Fast forward to 2019, after successful trainings in multiple destinations across America, we have found that the results of these trainings have been a huge success and provide a win-win situation for everyone involved:

 

  • DMO’s become an actual product that can be sold, in addition to a place that is promoted.
  • Suppliers obtain a new repeat revenue source and successfully grow their businesses.
  • Travel trade gain capable partners, bookable products and expand their reach and network.
  • Visitors have improved tailored and unique experiences to buy through the travel trade.
